
Hut Expansion Update
The Hut Addition shown here is labeled “Proposed Community Outreach Building” in the already approved 2002 Site Plan. The following is a brief description:
- Log construction with kit chosen that most closely resembles existing Hut features.
- Covered porch connector (possibly screened) at the existing Hut kitchen’s front door.
- Front porch facing MLK Blvd.
- Double-faced chimney to allow interior fireplace for meeting room that is identical to existing Hut meeting room and outdoor fireplace for courtyard space created by the connection (faces wooded area).
- Small kitchenette and easy access to existing Hut kitchen.
- Single-toilet bathroom in addition to easy access to existing Hut bathrooms. There is space to expand the existing septic field if the Health Dept. determines that this is necessary.

Log Cabin Kit (does not include foundation, electrical, plumbing): $41,000

Unknown: Construction costs (preliminary estimates $150,000 - $200,000, includes known costs shown above).
