OUMC on the Move !
Mission trip to Zambia - The OUMC medical mission
trip needs you. From January 13/14 – January 26, 2008, Orange will have a medical mission
team in Zambia attending to some basic medical needs of AIDS orphans and equally important loving,
hugging and touching these children; some of the most vulnerable in our world! We have a few doctors
and nurses signed up to go but could use a few more. Attending to medical needs is one part of our
embracing and loving these children we need folks on this trip who are doctors, nurses, and several who
just love children and have the ability to show them God’s love and to assist and help organize
the process at each of the sites we will visit.
We encourage you to come to the informational meeting August 28 at 6:30 in the Church Parlor.
You may be called to consider joining the group or you may feel led to help support the group and the ministry
as our church prepares to reach out to these children. There will be much to do in the next 4 months
to prepare for this mission trip and for making a difference in the lives of the children in Zambia.
Questions, contact Sandy Lange, Deb Gipson or Pastor Ray.

Dinners for Eight are fellowship dinners held in homes
and designed for eight adults. The host and guest coordinate the meal and everyone brings food to share.
These dinners are a wonderful way to meet new folks without the rush of Sunday morning. You don’t
have to be a gourmet cook to participate; you only need to have a desire for fellowship and fun!

Harvest Festival quilt - Blessed be the Piecemakers!
This year, the design for the Harvest Festival quilt has a "stained glass" quality and is created
by piecing a simple 9-square design of brights and shades of black and grey. Anyone who would like to find
out more, get instructions and take home a baggie (or two) of cut pieces to sew is invited to come to Doris
Click's house on Tuesday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. We would love for you to bring scraps of bright jewel colors:
blues greens, yellows orange, pinks, bright reds and/or bright purples to add to this communal project.
