Orange United Methodist Church has a rich tradition of music
and cultural events. Throughout the year, the congregation and
community enjoys a wide variety of musical events, plays, seasonal
events and cultural events. Please join us !
The Choirs:
The Chancel Choir
Made up of adults who rehearse weekly on Wednesdays beginning at 7:00 pm. They provide special music for the
11:00 am service each Sunday. The choir performs seasonal music at Christmas and Easter. The choir had a retreat
in September to begin preparing for the Christmas season.
Joyful Noise
This group is for people who love to sing but cannot commit to a weekly hour and a half rehearsal. The group
gets together on Wednesdays from 7:00–7:30 pm and performs about every six weeks. During the Christmas
season, they combine with the Chancel Choir to rehearse for a special performance during December. These combined
choirs meet on Wednesdays from 7:00–8:00 pm, followed by the Chancel Choir regular rehearsal from
8:00–9:00 p.m.
The Orange Pealers Handbell Choir
The Orange Pealers Handbell Choir consists of youth and adults with varying musical backgrounds. They rehearse
every Tuesday at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary and perform for worship services and special community events.
PATHWAYS musicians and singers rehearse on Thursday nights in the
Fellowship Hall.
Many other groups have formed from these two choirs: a men's quartet, a small mixed group, duos, trios, and
more !
The Arts:
Children's Cultural Arts
The Zone – our version of a musical
production. Each season our talented volunteers take on a new Christian musical for our children to learn
and perform. In a 3 month period the children will learn speaking parts and new songs to teach the adults a
wonderful lesson. All children ages K–5th grade are invited to attend. Parents need to complete a
registration form for their child and indicate which area you are available to participate.
