Please join us this fall with these group studies:

DISCIPLE 1: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study
A 34-week study that moves through the biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem. The hoped-for results of the program are to develop biblically nourished persons committed to live as disciples.

This study meets Sunday at 4:30 p.m. downstairs in Cana.

DISCIPLE 2: Into the Word, Into the World
A 32-week study of Genesis­Exodus and Luke­Acts prepared for adult and youth graduates of DISCIPLE ONE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. This study emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being in the Word and in the world individually and corporately.

This study does not meet during Spring 2007.

DISCIPLE 3: Remember Who You Are
A 32-week study of The Prophets and The Letters of Paul available to adult and youth who are graduates of DISCIPLE ONE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. It calls clergy and laity to disciplined Bible study that will result in a ministering community nourished by Scripture.

This study does not meet during Spring 2007.

DISCIPLE 4: Under the Tree of Life
A 32-week study of Old Testament Writings and the Gospel of John; 1,2,3 John; James; Jude and Revelation in the New Testament. This phase of Disciple is available to adult and youth graduates of DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. It continues to call clergy and laity to serious, disciplined Bible study that will result in development of biblically nourished servant-leaders.

This study meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m.in the Parlor.

JESUS IN THE GOSPELS
The first study in the DISCIPLE Second Generation Studies line, carries forward the philosophy and the ideals that shape DISCIPLE — high commitment, long-term, disciplined study.

This study concentrates on the portraits of Jesus that emerge from the four Gospels. This 30 week study is intended for graduates of DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. Training is required for this next generation of Bible study. It takes critical scholarship seriously and therefore requires of participants skill in comparing and analyzing various Gospel passages, and biblical knowledge that enables them to place particular New Testament passages about Jesus in their Old Testament context.

This study does not meet during Spring 2007.

CHRISTIAN BELIEVER
This 30-week study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith presents, explains, and interprets Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church. Think of it this way: informed believing leads to committed discipleship. Christian Believer integrates Bible study and Christian doctrine. Daily reading of assigned Scripture is part of the preparation for each weekly session. Christian Believer is a topical study, and the Scripture passages selected come from both Old and New Testaments.

This study does not meet during Spring 2007.

DISCIPULADO: TRANSFORMADOS EN DISCÍPULOS POR MEDIO DEL ESTUDIO BÍBLICO
É ste es un estudio de treinta y cuatro semanas de duración que está dirigido a los adultos. El estudio sigue un orden bíblico cronológico. Está diseñado para llevarse a cabo en grupos pequeños. Requiere que cada participante se prepare diariamente, participe en las reuniones semanales de grupo y haga un compromiso de asistir a estas reuniones por treinta y cuatro semanas. El propósito de Discipulado es desarrollar líderes cristianos competentes mediante la participación regular de estas personas en un estudio profundo de las Escrituras. Las metas de este estudio son hacer discípulos e instruir cristianos.
